Marion

1927-1998

Ms. Radley, a native of Marion, was the first laywoman to serve in a top administrative post at Nazareth College. She was a longtime advocate for women and their advancement in education and the workforce. In 1969, she was named Nazareth's academic dean and in 1973, Ms. Radley was named SUNY's provost for undergraduate education. In 1976, she was named interim president at SUNY Oswego, a position she held for two years before getting a permanent appointment. She instituted Oswego's first general education program and created an honors program before retiring in 1992.
